Aspen Grove Housing Development | Datblygiad Tai Aspen Grove

Along with Cardiff Council Cabinet Member for Housing, and Grangetown Councillor, Lynda Thorne, I visited the new Aspen Grove housing development in Rumney recently to have a look at the progress on the site, which is a partnership between Cardiff Council and construction company Wates.

Once completed, the whole site will have 149 homes. This will include two, three, four, and five bedroom homes, semi-detached and detached homes, and three-storey townhouses.

In addition, the site includes Addison House - one of Cardiff Council’s new state of the art Community Living schemes, with living solutions for older generations.

One of the fantastic things about the housing on the site is that it is at the cutting edge of sustainable living and energy efficiency. Houses are fitted with solar panels built into the designs, with the energy they generate stored in a battery fitted very discreetly inside each home. Each home also has a ground source heat pump to help heat the home, and high standards of insulation.

The homes will be up to 60% cheaper to run than homes of similar sizes - so good for the environment, and good for people’s pockets.

Mae gan bob cartref hefyd bwmp gwres o’r ddaear i helpu i wresogi’r cartref, a safonau inswleiddio uchel.

Bydd y cartrefi hyd at 60% yn rhatach i’w rhedeg na chartrefi o faint tebyg – felly’n dda i’r amgylchedd, ac yn dda i bocedi pobl.
