In Sully I’ve supported residents living at the Hayes Point development on the site of the former Sully Hospital, with a range of issues over the past few years, individually and through larger group meetings. I continue to work with Vaughan Gething AM on ongoing issues affecting residents.
I supported local campaigners and the Saving Sully Group to oppose a range of poorly thought out housing developments in the local area, and to raise concerns about traffic and environmental impacts. I have also worked with Beechwood College on local concerns, and am a regular visitor to the amazing Ty Hafan – doing amazing work with seriously ill children from across Wales and their families.
I also raised numerous concerns about highway safety on Sully Road with both police and the local authority, and am a regular visitor to our beautiful Cosmeston country park.
And it’s been a pleasure to welcome youngsters from Sully Primary School, and visit with St Joseph’s RC Primary School and meet sixth-formers from local schools to Westminster on a number of occasions, for educational visits and Q&A sessions, to help them learn about the workings of Parliament and the importance of civic education.
